Common statements I hear:
- Vaccines have saved untold millions of people.
- Infectious DISEASES (they're not just childhood illnesses anymore) are deadly, untreatable, and rampant.
- The ingredients are in such small amounts they can't possibly be harmful.
- The FDA, CDC, etc.. are there to protect us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's fine...it truly is a personal choice to vaccinate, and I respect your decision to vaccinate just as I hope you respect mine to decline them. My own research has debunked many of the long-held and unchallenged beliefs concerning vaccinations. Vaccinating my children would demand all suspension of my critical thinking and common sense. Here are 6 points you would have to convince me of before I'd ever consider resuming vaccinations. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In order to for me to vaccinate my children, I would have to:
1. Believe that vaccines are 100% effective, yet the CDC acknowledges they are not. Far from it.
-- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep;53(18):389-92-- 2004- 5-14
In Michigan in 2003 there was a chicken pox outbreak. Vaccination was verified for 485 students, resulting in a vaccination coverage of 95.7% (485 out of 507).
-- http://www.nvic.org/vaccines-and-diseases/Rotavirus.aspx
According to the CDC in 1999, rotavirus was causing 20 to 40 infant deaths annually in the US when the first rotavirus vaccine, RotaShield, was introduced. It was estimated that about 50,000 hospitalizations occurred in the US because of severe diarrhea and dehydration. Today, even though almost all US infants receive vaccines for rotavirus, and despite efforts to improve the management of childhood rotavirus-associated diarrhea, hospitalizations of children in the U.S. with the disease have not significantly declined in the past two decades: the CDC says rotavirus infection is still responsible for an estimated 400,000 doctor visits; more than 200,000 emergency room visits; and 55,000 to 70,000 hospitalizations in the US.
A case-control study has shown that 41 percent of meningitis occurred in children vaccinated against the disease. The vaccine's protective efficacy was minus 58 percent. This means that children are much more likely to get the disease if they are vaccinated. ~ JAMA, 1988, Osterholm et al., 260: 1423-1428
2. Believe vaccines do not contribute to the spread of these illnesses, yet the CDC acknowledges that they do.
-- http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/eid/vol6no5/srugo.htm
Vaccinated adolescents and adults may serve as reservoirs for silent infection and become potential transmitters to unprotected infants (3-11). The whole-cell vaccine for pertussis is protective only against clinical disease, not against infection (15-17). Therefore, even young, recently vaccinated children may serve as reservoirs and potential transmitters of infection.
3. Believe that vaccines are 100% safe and do not cause encephalopathy and other complications, yet the US Vaccine Injury Compensation Court has paid out over $2 BILLION to families with vaccine-injured children.
http://www.hrsa.gov/vaccinecompensation/statistics_report.htm
http://www.ebcala.org/areas-of-law/vaccine-law/analysis-finds-evidence-of-autism-in-many-vaccine-injury-c
“The Committee has set forth Comment K in this bill because it intends that the principle in CommentK regarding ‘unavoidably unsafe’ products, i.e., those products which in the present state of human skill and knowledge cannot be made safe, apply to the vaccines..." ~ http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/10pdf/09-152.pdf
-- Vaccines can cause death in Immunocompromised Individuals
"The administration of vaccines presents a problem in children with immune defects...No live virus vaccines should be given since there is a risk of causing disseminated infection that may be fatal. Even with killed virus vaccines, the patient will not make antibodies in response to the injection."
Essential Pediatric Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology ~ Raoul L. Wolf, pp. 159
4. Believe that vaccines are produced for the improvement of our health, yet the manufacturers are SO concerned about our health, that they include this disclaimer on every vaccine package insert, "_________ has not been evaluated for its carcinogenic or mutagenic potential, or its potential to impair fertility." http://www.fda.gov/downloads/BiologicsBloodVaccines/Vaccines/ApprovedProducts/ucm101580.pdf (page 6/13)
They also use pesticides, components of antifreeze, excitotoxins, known endocrine disruptors, and formaldehyde - why? If our children drank these components, we would call poison control. http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/downloads/appendices/B/excipient-table-1.pdf
5. Believe that these infectious illnesses - each and every one for which there is a vaccine - are highly contagious, deadly unless vaccinated against, with no effective natural remedies, and that permanent immunity is inferior to vaccine-induced inflammatory responses. If that were the case, the human race wouldn't have made it this far. You and I would not be here because previous generations would have died out. Knowledge is power.
A chance my child could die from pertussis? .00011%. http://www.exemptmychild.com/56401/56690.html
6. Believe that pharmaceutical companies, the CDC and the FDA truly have our best interests at heart.
i. Congress's 1986 Vaccine Injury Act removed parents' right to sue in state/federal court, protecting vaccine manufacturers from liability, and created a special vaccine court that could accept/reject claims at its leisure http://www.nvic.org/injury-compensation/origihanlaw.aspx
ii. BRUESEWITZ v. WYETH - US Supreme Court decision upholding the 1986 "unavoidably unsafe" language. Parents do not have the right to sue a vaccine manufacturer - even if catastrophic side effects result from their unsafe products. http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/10pdf/09-152.pdf
The Family Balancing Act
Insignificant At Best (FABULOUS blog!)
You have earned another follower :) I will comment on the other post that I promised as well.
ReplyDeleteYep, Darlene. I agree with everything you are saying. That's why we are a vax-free family!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME write up. Thank you for taking the time. I am definitely going to point people here when I engage in vaccine related conversations. :)
ReplyDeleteI admire your courage to speak out against vaccines! There are many people out there that are confused and afraid! It's time to seek the truth and educate and encourage others to a healthier life! God Bless!
ReplyDeleteVery well written! People need to wake up! I'll definitely be sharing this with others. Thanks!
ReplyDeletei recently came ill with the mumps, and i am 25 years old. I was only affected on one side and was only sick for 3 or 4 days. if i had not been vaccinated as a child i would have been far worse off! I respect your decision to be vax free, we are all moms just trying to do whats best for our kids. however i am thankful my mom vaccinated me and i intend on protecting my children the same way. Just a little from the other side! have a great day
ReplyDeleteThanks all. We had a bit of fun around here today, but that's all been taken care of. Not one of the ugly posts contributed anything substantial or relevant.
ReplyDelete@Anon - I left your comment b/c I wanted to simply say that I'm glad your infection was mild. However, there is simply no way to prove that it would have been any worse sans vax, as the long-term efficacy of the MMR is unknown - especially past 10 years or so.
I respect your views, and I agree that we are all doing the best we can with the information we have. The problem arises when we aren't open to new information that might challenge our current beliefs.
Thanks again for your comment - and you have a great day too! :)
Anonymous - any evidence that mumps is more prolific in the non vaccinating?
ReplyDelete"In the pre-teenager, mumps is a benign disease with rare complications, and it has been welcomed by generations of children as an excuse from household chores and school. Actually the disease should be handled as two separate maladies, the childhood form and the teenage or adult form.
Mumps in a child usually is only mildly incapacitating and moderately uncomfortable. As noted, many cases in children are so mild as to go unnoticed by parents.
When a child is older (say 18) they can have titres to test if they have exposure to mumps (and natural immunity) and they can decide for them self if they want to have vaccinations. Or does it make more sense to inject these strong toxins and biological agents into babies - when there are known risks.
Lazy benign parenting that's all it is.
But you aren't open to any new information that challenges your beliefs. You only use what suits your confirmation bias.
ReplyDeleteDarlene,thank you for your time and effort in researching this and presenting your opinion backed by evidence and even the pharmaceutical companies' own insert info. I know you are not only doing this for your own family's safety in mind but also for others because you truly have a heart that deeply cares. I appreciate all that you are doing to help others live healthier and in the Light of Truth. God bless you lady ;)
ReplyDeleteVery nicely said. I would add that I would have to believe that vaccines provide lifelong immunity.
ReplyDelete@Kristina - I didn't add that point for a reason. From what I understand, vaccines do not = immunity. There are people who are vaccinated multiple times, yet show no titers against the antigen. They do provoke an inflammatory response against whatever vaccine strain is presented, but that can never be confused with naturally acquired immunity that IS lifelong in most cases.
ReplyDelete@Anon - What an uninformed opinion you have of me! :) I read everything I can get my hands on, and at the end of the day, I have not been convinced that the sky is purple. If you notice, most of the links in this post are from GOV'T websites - if the information isn't true or is outdated, then perhaps the gov't should remove it?
@Cara - thanks dear lady. I appreciate you taking the TIME and trouble to comment here. :) God bless you too.
@Lila - Love the comment. Thank you.
Great post! I'd like to add that vax do not = lifelong immunity. I had an MMR vax in college because they told me I had to (I know now I could have declined). Fast forward 7 years, I am a midwife pregnant with my first baby. I had a prenatal panel blood draw done and it says that I am not immune to rubella (the only one of the MMR the prenatal panel tests for) my body had gotten rid of the vax in less than 7 years! My daughter is now 17 months and has never seen a physician other than myself. ;) healthiest baby I know!
ReplyDeleteI love the info you compiled! I agree with everything you said. I just had a long convo tonight w/ some old friends about vax. I am going to post this page to my FB profile, I hope that's ok, because it is so well written, fact based and I hope many will read it!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for your hard work!
Interesting information! I clearly have further reading to do. In order to decide for something for my child though, I only have to be convinced of a couple of things:
ReplyDelete1) That the potential benefit outweighs the potential harm.
2) That the potential harms are such that the decision cannot be delayed until such time that my child can make the decision for him or herself.
Based on that premise, there are undoubtedly some vaccines that should definitely not be given to children. Based on that premise, I consider breastfeeding of utmost importance and circumcision something that should never be chosen for a child. I haven't seen evidence that would convince me to universally decline vaccinations, but then, it's not topical to me right now so I'll admit I haven't spent much time researching it.
I merely wanted to challenge the idea that something should be '100% safe and 100% effective' to be the best option - usually, the benefits just have to outweigh the risks.
I have been a registered nurse for almost 40 years. I have had to call a family to tell them their daughter died from a meningitis that was a complication from HIB - before there was a vaccination for it. I also saw a 4 year old die from Reye's Syndrome which she contracted after having had chicken pox. Before there was chicken pox. One has to look at the whole picture with immunizations. I had a cousin who had polio as a child and later as an adult had complications. I remember when we couldn't go swimming in the summer because of the danger of the getting polio during the "dog days". I vaccinated my children for everything there was available at the time. I think immunizations are cheap protection against terrible diseases. What about tetanus? I've seen an animal die from tetanus and it was an excruciatingly painful disease. There are risks for everything we do, including getting vaccines. I believe in weighing risks against what protection is offered. I understand that vaccines are not 100% effective but they improve protection and I believe if a disease is contracted it is not as severe. EX. for the elderly influenza vaccine is perhaps only 30 to 40% efficacious but if contracted the person is less likely to die. But if a majority of the population is immunized there will be less virus circulating and less chance for them to get it in the first place. Some vaccines require boosters, such as MMR. If you were one of those back a few decades ago who had only one immunization it would be more likely that you might get one of those diseases later if you didn't have a booster. Oh, yes, mumps in adult male can cause infertility problems and rubella in a pregnant woman can be devastating for the fetus. That's another memory I have from the 70's - I saw profoundly disabled twin girls in a state facility who were blind, deaf and brain damaged. Their mother had contracted rubella while pregnant. One needs to hear all sides of the issue. Mary Thompson, RN, PHN
ReplyDeleteWell said! Amen Amen amen!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this! I have done enough research to make my personal decision for my little family to be vax free but have often felt intimidated by people asking me for references that support my claims. This will be bookmarked and added to my growing arsenal of information!
ReplyDeleteAt the risk of being shot at, I have several comments.
ReplyDeleteTo Anon. I am 45 y.o.(in a month) When I was a baby I had 2 of the 3 viruses MMR 'treats' for, 1 of them being mumps. So I never had to get that shot. That being said, I tend to side more with those who don't vax. But again as Darlene said it is a personal choice. She has done her homework & is satisfied not to vax her family. We have vaxed, but I chose how & when I vaxed, separating many of the combined shots out & postponing many for awhile. In fact I haven't even given them the chicken pox vac at this point & I'm not sure I will. Right now I am on a year to year basis with the ped. I WILL NOT give my girls the gardisil shot when they are old enough for that as I definitely believe that is a crock of bologna & that if parents teach their children abstinence it should NOT be an issue. And for the record I have had cervical cancer & was able to carry twins to term even after having surgery that shortened my cervix.
Just my 2 cents. Thanks for posting an informative article with links & references.
Exactly, vaccinations do not equal immunity whereas exposure to the disease does. Another reason we are a non-vexing family.
ReplyDeleteMy problems with the debate come from statements such as "Vaccinating my children would demand suspension of all critical thinking and common sense." We agonized over the decision. We lived in a community with a strong anti-vax population. And in the end, we vaccinated--after much heavy research. We didn't suspend any critical thinking or common sense. The decision is the parents, but to assume on either side that the parents have anything but their children's best interest in mind is both uneducated and insulting. If a little more care were given to the language we use with one another there might be a little bit more useful interaction occurring on both sides.
ReplyDeleteTo those who say components of anti-freeze are not in vaccines, here is my response:
ReplyDeletePropylene glycol is found in numerous products on the market - including cough syrup for kids and antifreeze. For more information, please read this link: http://www.glycolantifreeze.com/
"An important property of propylene glycol is its ability to lower the freezing point of water. This results in its use in the formulation of antifreeze mixtures. Propylene glycol is about 90% as efficient as ethylene glycol in antifreeze applications, but it is much less toxic."
Note the "much less toxic" - not, NON-TOXIC. So yes, one of the components in some forms of antifreeze is in vaccines as well. More information here: http://www.vaclib.org/intro/antifreeze.htm
@Amber -
ReplyDeleteWhile I completely understand your sentiments, I want to stress that these are my personal feelings on the matter, and FOR ME, after reading everything I have on vaccines, it would take a suspension and override of my common sense in order to resume vaccinating. I cannot speak for you or any other mother out there.
I greatly respect parents like you who did your research and do not judge you for your ultimate decision. We are all at different points along our journey, and I think the most important thing we do agree on is the initial questioning of something so important.
@Mary Thompson -
ReplyDeleteI really debated on whether to publish your comment, but decided to for this reason:
Your comment would be considered anecdotal to any doctor or scientist who read it. Yet, because you are a medical professional, your anecdotes are given much more weight and consideration than those of mothers around the world who report serious vaccine reactions.
There is a bias, and while I appreciate your comment - it does not offer any concrete evidence backing up your claims, nor does it refute the CDC referenced material I posted.
I too have been given the "chickpox kills" speech. To all medical professionals - please don't use fear-mongering to manipulate me into vaccinating my kids. Explain how the information I have obtained from government sources is wrong, inaccurate, or outdated. Teach me that measles is easily treated with Vitamin A, etc... Explain with facts, not anecdotes, since that is the standard you guys set for us mamas everywhere who KNOW something happened to our children, yet lack the scientific wherewithal you demand.
Thank you again for your comment!
I am all for freedom of choice, while I vaccinate my children I can understand both sides of the vax/ non vax 'debate'
ReplyDeleteI don't like the chicken pox vax I find it completely ridiculous, but I didn't realise until my older 2 children had had the vax that they even did it, when I was little my friend got chicken pox so they held a pox party so we could all get them.
I was vaccinated and I have barely ever been sick, never had anything that we were vaccinated against.
My dad has had measles and mumps and said he didnt want to risk us getting them cause he remembers what it was like.
Meningitis has killed 2 of my partners family members, and almost killed a very dear friend of mine, so yes when they brought out the meningitis vaccination we did it straight away.
The flu vaccine I wont touch.
I do find it hard when a lot of anti-vax mothers tell me Im stupid, killing my children, uneducated, and other horrible things they like to say, because I am NOT stupid, I have 3 HEALTHY children and I AM educated, I read up on this, I listened to both sides of the arguement and I made my decision.
I am happy with my decision, and I support other parents decisions if they choose not to vaccinate, I am not for or against them, I just chose them for MY family.
Very well-written post- I definitely agree with your points! We agonized over vaccinating our baby girl and ended up giving her a few, but not all. Now that I've done more research, I regret even doing that... Such a very difficult decision, but you laid out the facts well!
ReplyDeleteExcellent post Darlene, you've just won another follower!! Couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, I'm a naturopath and frequently see the other side of Mary Thompson's comment - the ones who've been damaged by vaccines, had all responsibility shirked, and left by the so-called mainstream health profession to effectively fend for themselves with all kinds of lifelong, often very crippling side-effects. But, like you say, it's anecdotal - and I guess being a naturopath (even with a BHSc) it makes me a 'lesser' healthcare professional according to most.
The bias and weight applied to these anecdotes from people in the health field is always fascinating. I'm sure if I said I thought vaccines were wonderful I'd be considered far more 'respectable'.
Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there - again, totally agree with your points and there's no way our family will ever be 'vaxxers'; the risks are too high.
Thank you for offering the facts, with links so well! Had I known when my children were born what I know now, they would be unvaccinated.
ReplyDeleteWe live and learn, and knowledge IS power. I'm an advocate for the truth, and I do expect truth in advertising. Guess that's naive, but I really do. Especially when it comes to products aimed at children.
Thanks again, and I'll be sharing this :-)
Oh golly gosh. So all the countries in the world who don't vaccinate against Chicken pox (UK and NZ spring to mind) is a whole country of kids dying or being maimed left right and centre from Chicken Pox. Genocide i tell you ;-)
ReplyDeleteOne needs to look at the much bigger picture.
Reye syndrome, an extremely rare. You don't think it more professional to educate mommas not to use asprin - children recovering from chickenpox or flu-like symptoms should never take aspirin. (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/reyes-syndrome/DS00142/DSECTION=prevention>
No, lets rather vaccinate millions of children against it. Lets put them at risk of adverse effects of vaccines.
Tetnus : The chance of a child dying from natural tetanus is the same approximately as the chance of winning the lottery. Most tetanus cases occur in nursing homes. I cite Australian statistics because this is what is relevant to me. In 2008, there were 4 notifications of tetanus, one each reported from New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland and were all aged greater than 70 years.
Hib : Australia has one of the lowest rates of Hib in the world. Of the 9 notifications aged less than 16 years in 2008, five were vaccinated and four were unvaccinated. http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/content/cda-cdi2112-pdf-cnt.htm/$FILE/cdi2112c.pdf
Chance of getting Guillian Barre Syndrome from Hib vaccine - 1 : 100,000 (Book: Adverse events associated with childhood vaccines Pg 244 - Institute of medicine)
In Australia the number of cases of meningococcal disease jumped by more than 700 percent between 1988 (when the hib vax was introduced) and 1993 (after a national Hib campaign was launched). {Beauttie G Vaccination A parents dilema Baeuttie G "What is Hib disease" and Sunday Morning Herald (April 24, 1997).}
Polio : Polio has now almost certainly been eradicated from Australia. The most recent case of polio, caused by wild poliovirus, was in 1978. http://www.health.qld.gov.au/polio/images/polio_in_australia.pdf Also Polio as a disease was reclassified in the 1950's - non-parylic polio is now called viral or aseptic meningitis and partial paralysis is now called guillian barre syndrome - these all used to be all under the Polio umbrella. (Many vaccines actually have Guillian barre as a side effect, and its a disorder that is on the rise). Heres some back ground information : http://reducetheburden.org/?p=2778 So whilst it LOOKs like the polio vaccine reduced the cases of polio - its not a realistic representation. The definition of polio was also changed from paralisis occuring for 24 hours or more to paralisis occuring for 2 months.
ReplyDeleteNon-paralytic polio cases | Aseptic meningitis cases:
1951-1960: 70,083 | 0
1961-1982: 589 | 102,999
1983-1992: 0 | 117,366
Guillian Barre Syndrome is an acute polyneuropathy that gives rise to muscular weakness, paralysis and areflexia usually in an ascenting pattern. About one third of patients with GBS require assisted ventilation. (Adverse effects associated with childhood vaccines - Institute of Medicine pg 244)
Aluminium : In particular, aluminum in adjuvant form carries a risk for autoimmunity, long-term brain inflammation and associated neurological complications and may thus have profound and widespread adverse health consequences. In our opinion, the possibility that vaccine benefits may have been overrated and the risk of potential adverse effects underestimated, has not been rigorously evaluated in the medical and scientific community. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21568886
Pertussis :
Pertussis in the vaccinated : https://www.facebook.com/notes/great-mothers-and-others-questioning-vaccines/whooping-cough-compilation-of-links-and-articles-courtesy-of-patrick-thomas/206276549412391 The vaccine does hot have a high success rate the pertussis has mutated. http://www.watchdoginstitute.org/2010/12/13/whooping-cough-epidemic-california/ The vaccine sheds and can spread whooping cough to others. Two babies have died in twelve years from whooping cough in Australia. One was not laboratory confirmed and the baby had an enlarged heart. Whooping cough, like measles, is cyclic in nature, which means that outbreaks tend to occur every 3-4 years regardless of vaccination rates. The British Medical Journal (25/9/1975).
The bigger you cast your net the more information you will find that will astound you.
If you and your child(ren) have been untouched by vaccines, consider yourself very lucky. As a grandmother, I can say with a clear heart that what I see showing up within 30/40/50 years old is directly related to the standards and practices of our out modded , for profit medicine, We are the warnings, yet for many years and ever increasing numbers, we give babies with weaker and more fragile mitochondrial, toxic vaccines, saying it is for their best health and far to many are resulting in many manifestations of illness.
ReplyDeleteNo I say, wait until a baby is treated individually , not the cookie cutter managed care we now experience. Our children and their children deserve healthier, greener choices and unless and until the CDC, FDA, AMA, gets on board, then please have an informed decision and say no, to toxic vaccines. Stand up for your child
I just wanted to add that all the Australian statistics that i quoted are easily found to be consistant with US. I simply don't have my research with me at the moment (its been lent out!) - but the info can be found, with a little digging.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this! I reposted to my fb profile :) We share many of the same beliefs. My son who is now 20 months contracted chicken pox from someone that had been vaccinated for it when he was 13 months. It lasted a total of 5 days and he showed little signs of discomfort. We treated it with oatmeal baths and calamine lotion, it really wasn't a big deal. Now he has lifelong immunity, Hooray!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the six useful points, so very well worded!
ReplyDeleteThe comments are interesting too, irrespective of the different views presented.
It all boils down to the fact that vaccination should be based on "informed consent".
Information is not necessarily sufficiently provided by the doctor, we should also investigate independently.
We should surely be interested in knowing what is put into our bodies, whether it is eaten or injected.
We read labels on jam jars and if we are dubious about ingredients we may choose not to buy the jam.
Package leaflets may all be found in internett and are an excellent source of information.
"Investigate before you Vaccinate"!
I am glad that when I was a child there was no MMR vaccine. I have contracted chickenpox, rubella and mumps. All were very mild.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, when I was a young adult I believed in government propaganda and had the Hepatitis B vaccine for myself in order to have protection against a disease I have never had the chance to contract it in the first place! (and I will not bore you with the details of all the health problems that resulted in that vaccine)
I thank God that I wised up before the HPV vaccines came out. It does not matter if you got this vaccine or not, you still have to protect yourself against the million other STD-s. And before you decide to go unprotected with someone, be honest and go to have tests together.
Mary, according to your logic, if you are so scared of disease and considering that vaccines are "effective" only for 6 years, then you should have ALL vaccines (boosters) every 6 years. (nice revenue for vaccine manufacturers-no doubt about that)
Good luck with that!
I am a mother of three, my first two children received every vaccination offered, I felt that it was the right thing to do and that I was protecting them the best way I knew how... My third child had all vaccinations up until 6 months... within approx. one week of her 6 month vaccinations my beautifully developing, giggling, happy baby girl developed Infantile Spasms - a severe form of Epilepsy that result in 91% of children having severe mental retardation without successful treatment. In a matter of days from her diagnoses I lost my baby's smile, her laugh, her talking... it was the most heart wrenching time of my life... Praise the Lord that one of the two drugs used to treat this disease is working and she is seizure free now and has been for 9 weeks or so... my point: be educated, pray for wisdom... It's a whole new ball game when you have been personally affected by a vaccine injury... I look at her all the time and apologize for not knowing what I know now... she is such a brave little girl!
ReplyDeleteJust want to say well done on posting such a well-constructed article. I will recommend it to anyone asking why I don't vaccinate as your key concerns are pretty much the same as mine. As my son approached his first set of jabs, my gut instinct told me it really wasn't right. I spent countless hours (and still do) researching and was horrified to discover just how scandalous the whole business is.
ReplyDeleteI initially intended to do a delayed vax schedule, but I now know I will never willingly allow one of those needles anywhere near my precious little boy....
I've debated posting about this issue on my own site, but to be honest I don't want the arguments and hostility that will inevitably come with it. Well done for taking the negative comments in your stride and not getting into a flame war with those who do not agree.
Mary Thompson,
ReplyDeleteYour stories of people hurt by "vaccine-preventable" diseases would be concerning to me, except for that 100s of my friends have kids with asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, autism, ADD, sensory issues, food issues, etc and 95% of them blame vaccines, as do about 90% of their doctors. Sorry, but the vaccines have cause more problems that they ever prevented. 54% of kids now have chronic health issues including obesity. SCARY times and no one seems to be setting off the alarm except for thoughtful mothers like Darlene.
Shawn Siegel commenting:
ReplyDeleteSeveral have commented on the real threat of meningitis, and there is certainly no argument; I recently saw firsthand the horror meningitis can leave in its wake, as some severely impacted meningitis victims testified to a Texas Senate committee hearing.
But the vaccine is also a threat. VAERS reports of adverse meningitis vaccine reactions include anaphylactic shock, blindness, convulsions, encephalitis, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, meningitis (!), migraines, rheumatoid arthritis - and death.
Some - most notably, our public health and medical authorities - discount the validity of the VAERS reports, because "correlation isn't causation"; because the causation cannot be proved. But the fact is, neither can the causation be disproved, and the temporal relationship of the events to the vaccinations, that spurred the initial reports, lend them validity. So, from whence comes their authority to advise us that vaccines are "safe", implying they can do no real harm?; and when did parents notify our medical authorities that it was acceptable that they base their recommendations to us to vaccinate on the assumption that the many reports of vaccine injury, including serious, debilitating diseases, chronic autoimmune disorders and death, are not valid? They have no such authority, and in so coloring their pronouncements show great disdain for the parental need for all relevant information when making medical decisions regarding their children.
Associated with the meningitis vaccines alone are the following VAERS adverse reaction figures:
Death 40
Life Threatening 170
Permanent Disability 120
Hospitalized 627
Hospitalized, Prolonged 72
Emergency Room 3,648
The Journal of the American Medical Association stated years ago that only about 1% of actual adverse vaccine events ever get reported or recorded, so multiply the figures above by 100 to get a more realistic idea of how many have been seriously threatened or damaged by the meningitis vaccines.
The same case can be made regarding all vaccines and their real and underreported serious and debilitating consequences. But the case needs hardly be made; on a daily basis, the continuing damage done by vaccines awakens more parents, and they awaken others, as does Darlene with this forum.
Great post!!! I vaccinated my now 4- year old daughter. I spaced them out because of her prematurity, and she did well. However, like Jill above, my now 6 month old son has infantile spasms that noone can find any genetic or other medical reason for them. I'm beginning to think it was a vaccine injury. They began 1-2 weeks after his 2 month vaccinations. Jill, if you check this post again, i'd love to talk to you! You can find me on Facebook, if you are on there!
Great post Darlene!
ReplyDeleteFor those folks out there that aren't sure if they want to refuse vaccines altogether, there is another approach that we followed, which is delaying and spacing out vaccinations for our kids and not overloading their little bodies with multiple doses. Most parents don't realize they can make their own schedule with their doctor. Newborn babies are given the Hepatitis B vaccine at the hospital within 12 hours of birth. We said no to that one.
My husband had polio as a child , non paraletic he remembers being bent over more than double, he recovered with a slightly curved spine & physio. He got measles at 35 which was bad & recovery was longer than a child, he did recover , he had measles before! All his family had all the usual childhood diseases as did ours &our cousins. None of us ever had whooping cough!
ReplyDeleteWhen we had our son we did not vaccinate him by educated choice, we were emotionally battered, attacked verbally, called every kind of stupid, irresponsibal, uncaring etc etc, We did not meet any medical person who agreed that we had a choice. We had to fight every inch of the way. In my opinion most people are uneducated on the subject & will remain so, the goverments & big pharma companies will work hard to keep it like this.
There will always be hard & aggressive people on either side, they usually have a reason but to see mild mannered people becoming so aggressive on the subject of vaccines is amazing, that alone made us research the subject intensively!!
My niece almost died from the tetnus vaccine, my mother in law had a major heart attack which left her in a wheelchair & needing assistance with everything directly after the flu shot, our neighbours beautiful, happy fun loving 7 year old daughter was left in a wheelchair with diminished mental capabilities directly after the whooping cough vaccine. I am quite severly dylexic, have a thyroid dysfunction & have multible adult allergeries as does my husband!
Our son was in preschool, playschool,scouts, school etc & never contracted anything, has been bitten by a dog, ripped by dirty barbed wire, operated on for a needle in his foot,sliced his leg open with a filthy stanly knife, opened his head from front to back by falling down the stairs & embedding his head in the slate at the bottom ending up with massive stiching interior & exterior & grew up on a farm with all the dirt that entails. We did not protect him from the other kids with chicken pox, measles, mumps & whooping cough etc, we hoped he would get them! All these children were vaccinated againse all the diseases yet they were the carriers & were suffering due to their vaccines! If vaccines are so brilliant etc etc why were these children sick!
There are alternative ways to prevent illness. there are many forms of medicine available to man, these help people/children to overcome illness/disease & to lessen the effects of disease, particulary childhood diseases, they also boost the natural albility to fight disease. Modern medicine is exactly that 'modern' There has always been some form of medicine/healing.These diseases have more than likely been around a long long time as have humans!The human race has grown & grown & flourished so vaccines obviously did not make that happen, nature did!
ReplyDeleteIt has never been proven to me that the ingredients in vaccines are safe, in fact from what I can find in research papers etc it has not been proven at all. And what are the long term effects of a vaccine....looks like some doctors in france are concerned that altzemers could be a result, there is an ongoing research into that right now! What else. What research was done on the vaccines we got ......we are that research!
Why is it that vaxers demand clinical trials from non vaxers to prove that the vaccine is not 100% but when its the other way around 'its different' or my doctor says its good' & 'I don't have to prove anything because everyone is doing it' or ' its normal' .......something terribly wrong with this attitude! I have never yet actually managed to have a normal conversation with anyone who pro vaccination unless they think I am the same yet I would be trying to have an imformative exchange of ideas etc! People who vaccinate are pro vaccination & should not try to say they are neither for or against (not including people who have but now don't)If you vaccinate then you are pro if you don't then you are against. Weather you are open to new ideas etc etc is a different issue. In my opinion & experience I have found non vaxers to be more open to discussion & learning about the products & less arrogrant about their choice etc than pro vaxers!
Now when asked I suggest people google VACCINE INGREDIENTS. Then we can have a disscussion that has some bases, this usually shocks most people. Most people seem to just google the vaccine itself or adverse reactions & this does not give much information. So some pro vaccine people are kept in the dark just because they do not know what question to ask ( taken me 25 years to figure this out!)
Certainly the deaths and disabilities caused by naturally occurring disease are terrible and have prompted the development of vaccines that promise to mitigate them. The promise is empty yet it is well sold. Many people will hold firmly to their beliefs even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, will deny the truth of the controverting evidence, or will sling "mud" at its authors in an effort to discredit them. It is important to know your sources and also the back-story of the authors of the sources.
ReplyDeleteMuch of the talk above concerns the immediate effects of vaccinations gone awry yet there is talk now about the long term effects and the relationship to such diseases as MS, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Children who are immunized have higher rates of asthma, ADHD, and autism. These can be studied on a country-by-country basis more reliably that using VAERS statistics, which are not recording incidences truthfully. (The ER doc says your child's problems cannot possibly be linked to the DPT shot he/she just had so do you think it will be reported to VAERS?) You can Google it and find as many deniers as proponents but be very wary of any source that has links to the pharmaceutical industry (related to advertisement income or other support such as the FDA or the AMA).
Darlene's blog may not sway you one way or the other, it may not change your mind if you love to vaccinate and believe the doctors who tell you that vaccines are perfectly safe. But there are many books out there that are well researched by qualified people who are not beholden to vested interests. Take a leap and check one out from the library or buy it. The authors would indeed like to sell you their book but they also tell a pretty consistent story that the vaccination policy in this country is harming our children and may be causing disease and infirmities in our adulthood as well. Since you have read this blog, it's a sure sign that you are interested and asking questions. Take the next step and read one, two, or a few of those books and you will probably join the millions who recognize that the government and doctors are not giving us the true story!
Lastly, if you have a child who is suffering from asthma, allergies, ADHD or autism, whether you believe it is from adverse vaccine reaction or not, consider seeking out a qualified NAET practitioner (you can Google it) because you may find some help. (It may sound wacky, but it works!)
I totally do not agree. Your putting your children's health and the lives of children that are too young to be vaccinated at risk. All of these diseases can be preventable if you gave your children the vaccines. If you have ever watched a baby die from whooping cough, i think you would think differently about vaccinating your children
ReplyDeleteThere are many allopathic doctors questioning the 'wild' use of vaccines. It appears that the concerns are
ReplyDelete*That they do not have to put all the ingredients on the lable or even tell those adminsering the drug/vaccine what these are, (hidden ingredients).
*That there are questionable ingredients in the vaccine both ethicaly & medically
*That proper independant tests/trials have not been done.
*That there is no real watchdog/monitor to protect the patient
*That the patient is not allowed by law to sue/take action against the manufacturing company
Fantastic Blog Post - spot on in every way. I wish people would understand though that Doctors are not your friends, they have a Business to run and that Business needs to keep running at a profit not a loss. So many people still have it in their heads that the Docs these days are looking out for what is best for them and would tell them everything. This is not the case anymore with more and more Doctors receiving financial incentives to keep those jabs coming!
ReplyDeleteCome on people, please sit back and really think about it.
This was very well-written! As a Christian, I have been looking for resources about the proper way to handle vax-ing vs. not. Also, having to handle dealing w/ kids pediatric docs who are copmpletely pro vax is leaving me very frustrated!
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous who said, if you have ever watched a baby die from whooping cough, I think you would think differently about vaccinating your children: the pertussis vaccine also kills. There are 1,852 reported deaths associated with the pertussis-containing vaccines in the VAERS database, and as I stated above, the Journal of the American Medical Association estimates only 1% of actual adverse vaccine events ever get reported. That means that there are a total of upwards of 200,000 related deaths, and though the few whooping cough fatalities are tragic, their numbers pale in comparison. This is reality; unfortunately, vaccine damage is far more catastrophic and pervasive than we are led to believe by the mainstream media.
Bravo! I tried finding a link to you on Twitter or option for RSS feed of your blog. Did I miss it?
ReplyDeleteThank you to everyone for your comments...it is very interesting, informative and educational on so many levels. I am a grandmother who was vaccinated myself back in the late 40's and I know my parents were doing what they thought was right. But as I see how out of control it has gotten and how they seem to have a vaccine for almost everything, I think it is not common sense to think we can prevent every sniffle, rash, or cough. I believe in the human body and that it is a wonderful miracle and gift. It seems like the inventors of these vaccines have gotten out of control and power happy and greedy. Once again, educate yourself, use your common sense and pray for guidance. No one loves your child as much as you even if some of us grandmothers think we do.
ReplyDeleteAwesome thoughts! Love it!
ReplyDeleteFantastic blog post!
ReplyDeleteI actually have a question. My daughter has not immunised her 5yr old son, which I am totally supportive of. She aims to investigate which vaccines may be worthwhile as he gets older. However, there is a difference between the 'western world' and the 'third world' in this debate, I guess? Mass immunisations in Africa, for instance, are known to save many lives. Also, if taking a young child into 3rd world countries, are there some immunisations that would be worth the risk? These are questions and discussions that I have not seen much of, and am simply asking for some views/information in this area. Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for compiling all the reasons in my head in one concise and well written {with links!} blog post. I have never been more glad we stopped vaccinating after just one dose of DTaP, HiB and PCV, and this was after I researched the heck out of the subject when i was pregnant and decided to selectively/delay vax. After he was born the more I read, the less I liked. Since i put faith in his body's natural abilities, as well as the statistics of the diseases children are vaccinated against, everything fell beautifully into place.
ReplyDeleteKnowledge is power.
and for the last anonymous person who posted: I feel sorry for you that you seemed to have had such a negative experience with a doctor or doctors or the medical system that you can now only see them as profiteers.
ReplyDeleteAlmost every person in this world is looking towards making a profit when they work. The best way to make a profit, generally, is to be the best at what you’re looking to do. I hope that you some day find a great doctor who will invite you to ask questions, admit when they’re unsure, and will meet you with research as well as look at any research that you’ve done on your own to come up with solutions to your healthcare needs.
I have been lucky that I have found this for my family, and if you don’t have it, meet and interview doctors until you do.
My dog died after a visit to the vets to receive two vaccines. He was very healthy and only 3 years old. As soon as he got the vaccines he got really ill. We found out he developed autoimmune disease. We gave him a blood transfusion... he died within 2 weeks of receiving the shots. 2 years later I became pregnant. I did a lot of research on giving birth naturally and didn't really look into vaccines much. I objected all the vaccines at birth, because it didn't feel right especially what I witnessed with my dog. When his 2 month wellness appointment was coming up I did a lot of research. My dog was 80 pounds and received two shots. My baby is 11 pounds and they wanted to give him 4 shots. This made me so disgusted. After all of my research I will never vaccinate my son.
ReplyDeleteNew follower! Great Post, I couldn't agree more! It can be hard to be a vax-free parent when the majority are not and don't bother to do any research. Thank you for this I will definitely be sharing this :D
ReplyDeleteI found your post interesting and informative and appreciated your research and links.
ReplyDeleteHowever I do think your comments about not posting those comments that disagreed with your viewpoint are not helpful. I realize as a blogger YOU have the right to moderate and post whatever comments you like, and these comments although against your viewpoint, were not written in a demeaning or inappropriate fashion that would typically warrant not being posted. If you are only requesting comments on your blog that shower you with praise and agree with what you say, not giving your readers any other points to ponder, then I suggest you may want to re-title your "Post a Comment" to something that specifies more clearly that only comments agreeing with you are allowed.
I'm sure this comment itself will never be published, but for some reason I felt it was worth a minute of my time to share my thoughts with you.
I would never vaccinate against measles, mumps or chicken pox... I just have them get the disease... I have five kids, hasn't hurt any of them too much... last one hasn't had anything yet though, and I am worried she'll get these diseases when she's older and it will be worse for her. I also won't do the pertussis vaccine because I've known many immunized children who came down with the disease regardless and I don't see it as being fatal in a healthy child. Also the pertussis vaccine has a larger risk than any of the others, so I just order the vaccines for my kids without it.
ReplyDeletebut as for tuberculosis, diptheria, tetanus, polio.. I do it... we live in Indonesia and see people sick and dying of those diseases a lot.
In the end it's up to us to decide for our children. For me, I think the risks of some diseases outweigh the risk of the vaccination. simple as that.
We also are a vax-free family. I have to say we are much much healthier then my friends who do vax. However it is so scary how the "medical world" has brian washed as I say, SO many people. I have to agree these Doc are in a business. Not that they don't care, but they have other adgenda in mind as well. I have to admit sometime I second guess our choices not to vax when we do have to go to the doc's but I always come back to my senses VERY quickly.
ReplyDeleteAHHHH! Well done, Darlene! You are a kindred spirit! Keep up the good fight and keep the faith. You are doing what you believe is best for your children and that is the most important job you have! My argument to nay sayers was always "herd immunity!" If you believe in the power and safety of immunizations, then you should not be threatened by the fact that my children don't have them! Get your child immunized and feel safe! I'll take my chances with the illness! and for those who wonder: Yes! I've known people with measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough (pertussis)! They can be devastaing for sure; but so can the side effects of the vaccines. Why else would Congress set up a fund to pay the damages to the children injured by vaccines? In the 80's there was a real danger of companies pulling out of the vaccine manufacturing business due to the liability. Congress eliminated their liability and took it on. That speaks volumes. They couldn't be declared safe ( though they have become SAFER), so Congress removed their liability. Not good enough for my children.
ReplyDeleteHello Darlene,
ReplyDeleteI was sent here from my Cousin, and Love how you added Links to back up your statements. Many other sites just kind of spit out what they believe with no proof or back up one way or the other.
I was fully vaccinated as a child, (obviously my parents choice), but i have a now 14 month old son. I vaccinated him up to 6 months and just had a bad feeling in my gut about it, and started doing more research and am glad to now be Vax-Free with my son, and any further children I have.
Thank you for the information and for putting your time into helping others get informed.
Thank you so much for the overwhelming response to this article! I never dreamed it would receive such strong reactions on both sides of the debate. I welcome all comments that pertain to the discussion.
ReplyDeleteAs for Mindy, you weren't privy to those comments that weren't published, and they had NOTHING productive to add to the debate. Instead, they were extremely personal in nature and were intended to distract from the main issue. I find it humorous that you took a few precious minutes out of your day to form an opinion on that which you know nothing about.
@Chibi - thank you for your two comments. Here is my response:
ReplyDelete1. If parents aren't allowed respect from the medical community on presenting "anecdotal" evidence with regards to vaccines and drug reactions, then medical professionals should be afforded the same treatment. Why would a nurse's "anecdotal" evidence bear any more weight with me than than a mother who saw her child regress with her own eyes after a vaccination?
2. There is a new report out just this week on the fact that more doctors are closing up private practices and working for large corporations. Do I fault someone for wanting to earn a living with his/her chosen profession? No. However, when you are an employee of a corporation that only has its bottom-line at heart, then the doctor might make certain decisions based on job security than your wellbeing. That isn't hard.
3. As for the 100% safe/effective argument you mentioned and I did not approve, if I am going to inject ingredients that in any other use would be considered toxic waste, then they better well be 100% safe/effective. The benefit would only outweigh the risk FOR ME if they were 100% safe/effective. The risk/benefit analysis is different for car seats and other things we use with our children because we are not talking about poisoning our kids, mutating their DNA, or introducing carcenogenic substances into their bloodstream in the name of "health".
This is my blog, and these are my standards.
We are due in 2 weeks, are having a home water birth, and IF boy, will not be circumcising. Dad i an engineer and I am a MA level counselor and still we are treated as "uneducated" with our current decisions. And next, is the vax debate. I am leaning HEAVILY towards non-vax but would like info on how to combat the argument against pro-non-vax research due to that scientist who deliberately skewed results to show that vax cause autism for future litigation profit.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your work and you passion!
HI
ReplyDeleteI have given birth 8 times and have been told every time I need an mmr as I have no immunities and am not allowed to leave the hospital till given the mmr vaccine.as a child my mother only allowed the booster vaccine to be given, this said I have never had any childhood virusus
such as chicken pox or mumps,my sister inlaw had german measles I was in contact with her daily never got the virus my cousin slept in the same bed as me we were 10 and she had the chicken pox i couldn't wait to get them,I never did.my last child now six was give several vaccines at the same time at 22 mo. by 24mo. she was a shell of her former self and at 36mo diognosised with autism.
You have a new follower!
ReplyDeleteAs a child, only 1.5 hours following my dpt and mmr shots, given on the same day (around age 6 months)I went into seizures, and vomited for hours on end. (I was breast fed, and had never thrown up or even spit up until this day.)
The days following were a nightmare for my parents. The fevers and seizures continued, I stopped making any eye contact, stopped talking and stopped crawling and standing. (I was an early talker, crawler, and up until this point, had started standing etc.) The injection site was rock hard and so largely swollen that my leg was 3times the size of my other leg.
Luckily, the doctor my parents had at the time was honest, and said that he felt that this was a reaction to the vaccination, and didn't try to downplay my symptoms as *normal*. He advised not to vaccinate again until I was much older, if at all.
I don't know why, but after about a month I was able to recover. I know so many children aren't near so lucky.
I did have terrible ear infections though as a child, shortly following this incident, and the worst eczema some doctors had ever seen, which I now know were probably a direct relation to the vaccination. I didn't out grow any of it until about age 12.
I find it really sad, that even after all of this, our doctor still wants me to vaccintate my children. I've told him what happened-and why I REALLY don't think it's a good idea (even after the *scare tactics* that he presents), he still bothers me about it at every visit we've been to.
Thankfully, we're hardly ever there. My kids, ages 7 and 8 are very healthy, and hardly ever sick with so much as a cold. Many of their heavily vaccinated playmates have runny noses all the time, horrible allergies, skin conditions, flu on a regular basis (even after the flu shot) behaviour issues etc..the list goes on.
I have no doubt in my mind regarding my decision to not vaccinate.
I'm also hounded on a regular basis by my ob/midwife about not being up to date on the mmr (since i'm not rubella immune) and told that I too *must* have the vaccine. One doctor even tried to give me the vaccine while I was pregnant with my second son, and swore it was safe.
I couldn't believe it.
I appreciate your literature references to vaccine risks! I am not sure what weight to place on anecdotal accounts for or against. Unless you know the specific mechanisms and how they apply to your individual case, it seems to me that a statistical analysis is the best you can do. That is (for any decision): balance all known benefits against all known risks.
ReplyDeleteWhen I consider toxins, I like to quantify "how toxic" and compare to the quantity in question. I believe that many (if not all) things which are necessary for life, are toxic in excess. For one extreme example, see "water toxicity": http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1770067/
to 'anonymous' who posted about contracting measles at age 25. Research the efficacy of that measles shot you got as a kid and you will see that there is NO WAY that your light case was b/c of a childhood vaccine. it's just not possible. vaccines aren't bullet proof for your lifetime. Most are only for a few years max. :/ It's really disturbing.
ReplyDeletere: the Wakefield reference as the doc who skewed research about autism...While I personally feel-based on my reading, that he has been unfairly crucified, eliminate him from the conversation-you sill still find plenty of evidence from other sources.
ReplyDeleteMy great aunt has a bad leg due to polio that she contracted as a child, and so I feel for her and I do understand the reasoning in getting vaccinations. However, in looking at all the data, the for-profit corporations that are making billions off them, the government (think FDA, CDC also making billions), all the injuries attributed to vaccines, all the lying and deceitfulness of top-level officials and the various amounts of research I have done--I could never give them to my children nor will I ever have one myself again.
ReplyDeleteI have always thought it possible that there is a difference from the 1930's/1940's/1950's till now in the way that the vaccines are made. Back then, its very possible that they did not add the preservatives, metals, chemicals, hormones, etc. that they do now, and/or even if they did add those things "back then" that the additives weren't nearly as harmful so as to result in such awful side effects and nearly as many people being affected from them.
Just a thought...
Elizabeth - when the polio vaccine first came out, it was contaminated with SV40 - a simian (monkey) virus found in the brains of humans who died of cancer. It was also a live vaccine, and we now know caused more cases of polio than it prevented - Nigeria still uses this vaccine and has had a huge problem with polio since its use began. In the US - only about 20% of the population was ever vaccinated against polio, so how in the world can they claim vaccine success? For an in-depth look at this, check out the book, "Evidence of Harm" by David Kirby.
ReplyDeleteResearch the correlation between polio and pesticide use. We also know that polio was never truly erradicated, only renamed. Now, we call polio GBS, meningitis, etc... same symptoms.
I could NOT have said it better myself. It's refreshing to see someone talk about this with so much information to back it up. You are very brave for posting this because you definitely opened yourself up to a lot of possible bashing.
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time I went to an anti-vaccination seminar given by my chiropractor. I thought he was insane. I thought there was no way I'd ever consider not vaccinating. By the time the 2 hours were up, I decided I needed to do more research because I was pretty sure I would never let a vaccination near my child. That was about 3 years before I had my daughter and my belief only got stronger. I was really worried about the consequences of my choice, though. Not for her heatlth but in the community. We did have a problem with one doctor, so we moved to another. The rest has been cake. NO ONE has given us the hard time we were told we were going to have. I really think this is becoming more and more common. It's nice to see more people out there researching and thinking for themselves, instead of blindly following the masses.
Lisa
P.S. This post just earned you another loyal follower. Thank you so much for it!
Vaccines may not be 100% effective, just as an umbrella won't keep you 100% dry, but the diseases are 100% dangerous.
ReplyDeleteDo you really want to deny your children pratection on the basis of an irrational quibble?
Darlene, I have a question that you may know the answer to. What if you have been getting your kids vaccinated since birth and then decide you don't want to anymore. Is this safe to do? Both of mine had their vaccines and won't need anymore until they are 10ish. But I have always been on the side of not vaccinating. I only got them vaccinated at birth because I "thought" they would be going to school. Anyway if you have any input I would love to hear it. We did choose not to circumcise our son because we felt that was a decision he should make not us. There is a lot of controversy over circumcision too but after much research we decided it was best and he can always get it done if he chooses to. I got a lot of negative comments from my family about the decision but it was ours to make and no one elses just like vaccinating.
ReplyDelete100% dangerous! lol, we just kicked Chicken Pox in two days. It had absolutely no chance against my baby girls. Healthy unvaccinated, nourished girls.
ReplyDelete@Kathy,
ReplyDeleteMy girl was vax'd thru age 2. My son, through 9 months. We stopped cold turkey after extensive research. I see no reason to get them anymore, and have used a variety of methods to detox from their bodies the bit of rubbish I did end up putting in them. It makes me sick now to think about it, but when we know better, we do better. :) And yes, it is tough to make socially unpopular decisions, but stay strong, know you're doing what is best for YOUR family, and everyone else needs to do the same.
@Anon - so happy to hear your girls now have natural immunity!!! Yay!
I want to ask Anarchic Teapot WHAT diseases are 100% dangerous?
ReplyDeleteThe vaccine ingredients are 100% disgusting at the minimum. I don't want to eat let alone inject monkey DNA. Human DNA. Aluminum. Formaldehyde. Botulism. Mouse serum protein (blood). Chick embryo fibroblasts. Bovine albumin. Thimerosal. Monkey kidney cells. And squalene.
This is on the CDC website on the pinkbook of ingredients.
I won't have them put in my family.
When did the chicken pox become so scary?
Really? When did we have to start mandating vaccinating 9 yr olds against an std instead of teaching morals? That was the day someone should have said something is seriously wrong with our society and it needs fixed not vaccinated. Maybe they need a vaccine for stupid
I have found a partner in thought here. Thank you. This was so well worded. We have two vaccine injured children. I have actually had people walk up to me and say, straight to my face, "but isn't Autism better than XXX" (fill in whatever disease they are selling at the moment). After I take a deep breath, resist the urge to hurt them for the horrible thing they just said, I tell them "first, my kids have more than Autism thanks to vaccines, and NO, a life time disease isn't better than a week or two of being sick".
ReplyDeleteMy kids both have Autism (presented so differently there's no way the "well, 2 year old is just when it happens" holds true), both have hypotonia (one with medical records showing it wasn't always there), one has SEVERE and MULTIPLE food allergies, both have sensory issues that are polar opposites of each other, and the list goes on. When you look at their labs and the toxins in their system look like the CDC's vaccine ingredient list, you wake up very quickly. Even our pediatrician that vaccinates fully any and all patients looked at me after our first son's issue happened and said, "do you want to skip your younger son's MMR after what happened to AAA?" It scared him enough to question.
I think this says alot about the "protection" we have from vaccines. I have done alot of research and every day I find something new...like your post. Thank God for more and more parents who educate themselfs about vaccination. I thought I will share this article, bc this is what Dr. come up with when you tell them you don't want vaccinate.
ReplyDeleteThe Deadly Impossibility Of Herd Immunity Through Vaccination, by Dr. Russell Blaylock
In the original description of herd immunity, the protection to the population at large occurred only if people contracted the infections naturally. The reason for this is that naturally-acquired immunity lasts for a lifetime. The vaccine proponents quickly latched onto this concept and applied it to vaccine-induced immunity. But, there was one major problem – vaccine-induced immunity lasted for only a relatively short period, from 2 to 10 years at most, and then this applies only to humoral immunity. This is why they began, silently, to suggest boosters for most vaccines, even the common childhood infections such as chickenpox, measles, mumps, and rubella.
Then they discovered an even greater problem, the boosters were lasting for only 2 years or less. This is why we are now seeing mandates that youth entering colleges have multiple vaccines, even those which they insisted gave lifelong immunity, such as the MMR. The same is being suggested for full-grown adults. Ironically, no one in the media or medical field is asking what is going on. They just accept that it must be done.
That vaccine-induced herd immunity is mostly myth can be proven quite simply. When I was in medical school, we were taught that all of the childhood vaccines lasted a lifetime. This thinking existed for over 70 years. It was not until relatively recently that it was discovered that most of these vaccines lost their effectiveness 2 to 10 years after being given. What this means is that at least half the population, that is the baby boomers, have had no vaccine-induced immunity against any of these diseases for which they had been vaccinated very early in life. In essence, at least 50% or more of the population was unprotected for decades.
If we listen to present-day wisdom, we are all at risk of resurgent massive epidemics should the vaccination rate fall below 95%. Yet, we have all lived for at least 30 to 40 years with 50% or less of the population having vaccine protection. That is, herd immunity has not existed in this country for many decades and no resurgent epidemics have occurred. Vaccine-induced herd immunity is a lie used to frighten doctors, public-health officials, other medical personnel, and the public into accepting vaccinations.
