Week 8 - A Cheerful Giver

I started writing this post feeling defeated.  Two weeks now, and I feel we are spinning our wheels with school.  Not getting much accomplished.  However, by the time I finished editing the pictures, I realized... a lot of learning took place this week.  Perhaps not quantifiable with a standardized test, but my children learned much about life.  No doubt.

We stayed on GIVING, learning the song, and reading spatial books such as Go, Dog, Go (which Isa read by herself), and From Head to Toe.  We painted with tiny paintbrushes, and worked on handwriting.  We practiced veggies/fruits at the grocery store.  So at the end of the day, I can't complain, and we have to celebrate the progress we did make.  Oh, we also made homemade applesauce, apple jelly, butter, ricotta cheese, buttermilk, and cream cheese.  And started Diaper Liberation Week.

Enjoy!

PS - Any ideas on why Isa is writing her entire name backward, from right to left?  Could it have anything to do with her being left-handed?  (See pic below)

  1. Just "hopping" over to visit from the HHH. Nice to "meet" you! :-) I think you had a very productive week! Great photos, too! I wouldn't be worried about the backward writing this young, it is completely developmental and can be because of her being left-handed. :-)

    Many blessings,
    Lisa

  2. Oh, you got a ton done! Just potty training is a big accomplishments and then all that yummy food you made. Give yourself a pat on the back. When kids are little those kinds of experiences are the ones they will remember--happy times working together as a family.

  4. MissMOE - thank you for the encouragement! Well, in all honesty, the apple products were made due to my apples going bad, and the other stuff was a direct result of me leaving a gallon of raw milk out overnight by accident. haha! It was either use it/convert it/or throw it out.

And you are right. We are building so many memories that we don't even notice. Blessings to you!
